Set up private AI on a computer you already own

If your office already has a powerful computer, such as a Mac Studio or a PC with a suitable graphics card, we may be able to set up the private AI assistant on it, so you only pay for the setup.

What we do

• Check the computer. We look at its memory, storage and operating system, and how much room is left for an AI model once the rest of the system has what it needs.
• Tell you plainly. We say what it can run, what it cannot, and what would help. If it is not suitable, we tell you before you commit.
• Set it up. We install the assistant and a model that suits the computer, create a login for each person, and load your documents if you ask us to.
• Hand it over. We walk your team through it, and you sign a handover note.

What it costs

It is quoted individually in writing. You do not pay for hardware, because you already own it. We are not supplying or supporting the computer itself.

Things to know

• Speed depends on the computer. See graphics cards vs Apple silicon for what affects it.
• A dedicated computer works best. If it is also someone's everyday computer, the AI has to share it, and it has to be switched on whenever your team wants to use it.
• It works on your office network. Working from home would need a secure remote connection.
• Support is not included unless we agree on it in writing.
• Where: we set up on Sydney's North Shore and in the CBD. Ask us if you are elsewhere.
• Terms for this service are confirmed in your written quote.

How to ask

Use the enquiry form, choose "Not sure yet" for the build, and tell us in the message that you would like setup on a computer you already own. Include what computer it is and how much memory it has.
