Private AI for medical practices in Sydney
GP clinics, specialists, dental and allied health practices hold health information, which the Privacy Act treats as sensitive. A local AI that runs on a computer in your practice lets your team ask questions of your own documents without sending them to a cloud AI service.
What practice staff use it for
- Finding the answer in your practice's own policies, procedures and accreditation documents.
- Summarising a long letter, report or bundle of correspondence in a few bullet points, for a clinician to review.
- Drafting a first version of a recall letter, a patient information sheet or a staff email from your own templates.
- Searching meeting minutes, rosters, supplier documents and office manuals.
Why keeping it in the practice matters
The Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC) recommends that organisations do not enter personal information, and particularly sensitive information, into publicly available generative AI tools. It also notes that AI use in healthcare may pose particular privacy risks and challenges because of the sensitivity of health information. Read the OAIC guidance.
With one of our computers, your documents and your team's questions stay on a computer in your practice. The one exception is web search, which is off unless you switch it on, and then only the words being searched go out, never your documents.
- Every person has their own login.
- You can keep separate document sets, such as practice policies for everyone and a smaller set for the practice manager, so people only see what they should.
- Administrators can review chat history, so it is fair to tell your staff.
What it will not do
It is not medical advice, and it is not for diagnosing or treating anyone. Like any AI tool it can get things wrong or misread a document, so check important answers against the source. Each answer shows which documents it used, which makes that check quicker.
Before you use any AI tool with patient information, check your privacy obligations, what your professional body and accreditation standards expect, and what your insurer requires. Keeping files in the practice is a good start, but it does not by itself meet them. This is general information, not legal advice.
Sized for a small practice
We size each build to the number of people who will use it at once and test it with several people asking questions together before handover. See our builds for the options. To compare the cost with per-person AI subscriptions, use the cost calculator, or try it on one of your own documents. We are based in Sydney and set up on the North Shore and in the CBD.
